Carbon footprint (kg CO2e) expended in the aquaculture: An assessment of concrete pond rainbow trout farming from Türkiye

چکیده
Abstract The carbon footprint (CF) of animal production systems can be estimated by their standings against global protein demand. Türkiye is the largest producer rainbow trout in Europe, but there little data on its CF. This study aimed to evaluate CF expended concrete pond (CPRT) farming. were obtained from a farm with an annual project capacity 350 tonnes (APC) over three-year (TYP) different harvest amounts. total was summation compound diets, general management, transportation and machinery, equipment, construction. calculated at 1.78 1.67 kg CO2e average for TYP APC, respectively. values per deposited harvested/fresh weight fish Mcal cultural energy during 10.66 0.36 CO2e, 100 kcal food harvested 0.1263 0.1173 Aquafeed are important sources CPRT. Future studies must species-specific culture-specific.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Clinical screening for cataracts in rainbow trout and non-salmonid fish in traditional fresh water pond farming
Routine screening of rainbow trout and other non-salmonid fish species from traditional pond farms in Lower Saxony, Germany, indicated a low incidence of cataract and other optical changes. The cataract problem and more severe eye changes, although present in freshwater fish farming, seem to be less prevalent than in marine production of Atlantic salmon. Cataracts have been a subject of increas...

In this study, an indoor fish farm was selected to assess the biological treatment of the waste effluents. The purification lagoon surface was completely grown by target species, Nasturtium aquaticum. Six stations were selected as the water source, the farm outlet, the starting point of outlet water to the lagoon and three next other sampling stations. The averages of many chemical parameters ...
متن کاملThiohalocapsa marina sp. nov., from an Indian marine aquaculture pond.
A spherical-shaped, phototrophic, purple sulfur bacterium was isolated in pure culture from anoxic sediment in a marine aquaculture pond near Bheemli (India). Strain JA142T is Gram-negative and non-motile. It has a requirement for NaCl (optimum of 2% and maximum of 6% w/v NaCl). Intracellular photosynthetic membranes are of the vesicular type. In vivo absorption spectra indicate the presence of...
